Mr Thomas examines whether it would be possible to integrate the complaints and compensation systems for NHS general dental practice into a single system. At present the complaints systems offers no compensation mechanism and compensation is pursued though the general law of contract and tort. The paper examines the background to both and evaluates the role that ADR processes could play in an integrated system.
